Kay Anuluoha, ACSW (she/her)

My name is Kay (she/her). I’m an Associate Clinical Social Worker at Diaspora Therapy Group. I work with adults, teens, and couples who may look like they’re managing on the outside, but feel anxious, depleted, shut down, or stuck on the inside.

As the child of Nigerian and Zambian immigrant parents, and through my work with clients from many backgrounds, I understand how complex it can be to hold multiple cultural, racial, and ethnic identities shaped by migration and diaspora. I welcome space to explore belonging, intergenerational pressure, cultural expectations and obligations, and the pressure to succeed.

I’m especially committed to supporting immigrants and children of immigrants and individuals in the QTBIPOC community, with a strong focus on complex trauma and PTSD. We can explore how living between worlds—and not feeling fully seen—has shaped your stress, relationships, and sense of safety. In therapy, we can name the cost of code-switching and “performing okay,” explore whose rules you’ve been living by, and build choices that protect your energy and relationships.

I also support clients navigating anxiety, workplace stress and burnout, depression, ADHD, family challenges, grief, and life transitions—especially when “survival mode” has become the default. As someone who is also neurodivergent, I offer neurodiversity-affirming care and practical supports that fit real life. I support clients with ADHD, including inattentive traits that are often missed, like mental fatigue, time blindness, and difficulty starting or finishing tasks. We’ll build practical supports for daily life and work on reducing shame and self-criticism.

My approach is person-centered and trauma-informed, grounded in intersectional and anti-oppressive values. I integrate somatic-informed practices to support regulation and recovery from chronic stress and emotional dysregulation. I offer virtual sessions and am committed to a therapeutic environment that is inclusive, affirming, and supportive. If this resonates with you, please reach out to schedule a free consultation.
