Dr. Rachel Robitz, MD (she/her)

Hi, I’m Rachel Robitz (A.K.A Robitz or Dr. Robitz), and I use she/her pronouns. I am boarded in both Family Medicine and Psychiatry, and I also did a Fellowship in Community Psychiatry. I have spent the majority of my career supporting individuals who have experienced complex trauma and abuse,
substance use disorders, houselessness, and other forms of marginalization and oppression.

Understanding the structures and systems of oppression that impact my patients’ health is critical, so advocacy outside of clinical settings is an important part of the work that I do.

I take an approach that recognizes that I have an expertise in psychiatric diagnosis and medications, and my patients have expertise in their own experience. Together we partner our expertise to come up with
the ideal treatment plan for the individual. I aim to create a culturally safe and healing centered environment, and I use a harm reduction approach. I don’t view my job as convincing you to take medication, but I am here to consider if medication may be a useful tool for you and creating space to ask questions as you consider its use. I particularly enjoy working with young adults/college students, and individuals who have experienced interpersonal violence and abuse, former foster youth, sex workers, and people who use drugs.
