Angie Beeson, AMFT (she/ella)
Hola! My name is Angie (she/ella). I am a Marriage & Family Therapist who identifies as Latiné, queer, and neurodivergent. My previous work in Conflict Resolution and Peace Studies shaped my view of mental health through dignity, reconciliation, and non-violence. My modality understands healing as a communal journey grounded in collective integration and ancestral wisdom.
As a Colombian immigrant, my experiences with structural oppression and assimilation led me to shift my career towards supporting others who face similar challenges. I motivate clients to write their own stories and challenge hegemonic narratives. My experience and passion is to work with diverse communities, especially low-income BIPOC, refugees, and bicultural families. I enjoy connecting with teenagers, young adults, and families. I have a special passion for gender and sexuality issues and I consider myself as kink-friendly and sex positive.
My approach is direct and warm. I help clients explore their needs, foster comfort instead of dis-ease, and grow their sense of unconditional self-acceptance. I have helped clients through a multitude of challenges such as life transitions, family estrangement, ethical non-monogamy, polyamory, couple’s attachment and communication, sexual trauma, PTSD, neurodivergence, harm reduction for substance use, addiction recovery, anxiety, and more.
Outside the therapy room, I enjoy traveling, skiing, running, dancing, cooking Colombian dishes, and lifting weights.
