Dr. Kiley Dunne Lizama, DSW LMFT (she/her)

Hi! I'm Kiley, and my pronouns are she/her. I am the proud Founder of Diaspora Therapy Group. I am a trauma-focused psychotherapist, and much of my work is with people carrying histories that have never been fully witnessed. I specialize in supporting clients who have survived political violence, war, torture, sexual assault, childhood sexual abuse, and the complex realities of immigration and asylum. I understand how these experiences reshape a person’s sense of safety, belonging, and identity, and I work at a pace that honors each client’s capacity and cultural story. My goal is always to help people feel less alone in what they’ve carried for far too long.

I have a particular soft spot for eldest daughters. I’ve worked with so many who grew up translating, caregiving, solving, and absorbing everyone else’s needs while quietly drowning in their own. I help them name the pressure they’ve lived under, sort through the mix of loyalty, resentment, love, and fatigue that comes with that role, and begin to imagine a life that leaves room for their own grief, rest, and desire.

My clinical style is rooted in cultural humility and relational depth. I believe the therapy relationship itself can be a powerful part of the healing process; an honest, consistent space where clients can practice being seen without having to perform strength or hide their pain. I integrate EMDR, ACT, parts work, and relational therapy to help clients build internal flexibility, understand their survival patterns, and move toward lives that feel more grounded, meaningful, and possible.

Clients often tell me they appreciate my steadiness, directness, and human approach. I’m not here to rush anyone toward a version of “healing” that ignores the realities of their lives. I’m here to sit with the truth of what they’ve lived through and to support them in building something sturdier, softer, and more self-defined moving forward.
