Beyzanur Ozdemir, AMFT (she/her)
I work with children, teens, and adults across California, in person and online, to create space for untangling the emotional patterns that keep people feeling small, resentful, or unseen.
As the eldest daughter in an immigrant family, I understand the quiet exhaustion of being “the responsible one.” The one who held it all together, translated between parents and siblings, kept the peace, got the grades, and rarely disappointed anyone—even when it cost you connection with yourself. Many of my clients grew up being the mediator, the caretaker, or the achiever, only to find that their needs were overlooked and their anger misunderstood. Beneath the calm exterior, they often carry deep grief and unspoken rage that no one seems to notice.
In our work together, I help you reconnect with those hidden parts—especially the ones that learned to stay quiet or “be good.” We move from intellectualizing pain toward actually feeling it, honoring it, and allowing it to guide your healing.
I am neurodivergent-affirming and specialize in supporting clients with ADHD. I know how ADHD can look different for women and femmes, often masked behind perfectionism, emotional burnout, and feeling like you’re constantly falling short of invisible standards. Together, we’ll create tools that work for your real life, not just the one you think you “should” have, while fostering self-advocacy and radical self-acceptance.
As a Muslim therapist, I hold space for clients with complex, evolving relationships to their spirituality. I understand the importance of finding a therapist who understands and values your identity and faith. I also provide affirming care for queer Muslims and make space for all that comes up when navigating queer identity. I know that it can be difficult and isolating to balance community, culture, religion, and the authentic self. You should not have to compromise any part of yourself to find connection and spirituality.
My approach is collaborative, relational, and anti-oppressive. I believe healing happens through compassion and curiosity, not performance or perfection. I bring a lens of decolonization, antiracism, and anti-capitalism to my practice. I welcome the cultural, spiritual, and ancestral practices that have always been part of your collective healing.
If you’ve spent your life caring for everyone else and are finally ready to care for yourself, I’d be honored to walk alongside you.
